Our story

Seeds Are Our Passion, Your Smile Is Our Reward.

The Island Seed Co. lives on the Isle of Mull, just off the West coast of Scotland. It’s the kind of place where sheep roam free, eagles circle in the sky and otters play on the rocky shores. People and nature live side by side in the six villages and small crofts dotted about the island. It’s the kind of place where its perfectly acceptable to be found gardening in your dressing gown and a pair of wellies.

We began through the simple pleasure of growing flowers and herbs for the vase. With a passion for growing from seed we wanted to create cut flower collections that would bloom at the same time, be full of scent, colour and sometimes, surprises. (Ever tried adding dill to a flower arrangement? We did, and it works beautifully!) There’s nothing more rewarding that nurturing flowers from seed and then bringing them into your home to be enjoyed by all the senses. Its what smiles are made of, and smiles are a very important part of life.
